How cute are they?

This is my daughter Mackenzie Rose and my hubby Mike. They are going to the Girl Scout's Father Daughter Dance. It was Mackenzie's idea to wear this dress. It is a vintage dress I bought a long time ago at a garage sale! (One of those rare good finds!) What style does she have! I think she just wanted to feel like a princess! And boy she did! She wore some pink vintage gloves and accessorized with a vintage pink purse. (Also garage sale finds!) My husband said she sauntered about with her dress swish, swishing. The two of them danced, then Dad was used as a purse, glove and shoe holder for the rest of the night! They had a great time!
Oh, and Dad is sporting a "Mod" style sport coat. (An 80's thing.....also purchased at a thrift store!) Now that's what I called STYLE!!!! I bet there was nobody else there who had the same fashion style as the two of them! But then that is why I love them both so much!

MACRO CHALLENGE

Thank you again for all of your lovely comments on my sweet dog, Ruby. It's so tough getting over the loss of a pet. Especially one that was so dear to our family.

Now that I've managed to come bleary-eyed through the fog of the past few days, I've come to post my macro challenge photographs. I thought that the first one is appropriate because this is how I'm feeling. Sort of broken. I know I will get past the tough parts with healing time. I feel so lucky to be an artist. It's the best therapy!

Tears for Ruby

My eyes are filled with tears as I write this. Today we had to make the dreaded decision to put our dog, sweet, sweet Ruby to sleep. It's a decision nobody ever wants to make. She is suffering so much though and I just can't bear to watch her suffer. She has really been the best dog anyone could ever ask for.

30 Day Macro Challenge

Orange Flower is having a 30 Day Macro Challenge! I'm a little late in starting, but it looked like so much fun! Since I'm quite behind on the challenge, I am posting several today just to get started.

Post a macro photograph each day of April. This is NOT a CONTEST! It is a great way to practice basic photography skills such as lighting and composition, and maybe learn a thing or two about your camera. So I'm taking the picture of this little dolly and........the first one the eyes were looking at me, then the second one......the eyes seemed to follow me.......

I'm just saying.....kind of weird!

 

UPDATE on Ruby

That sweet little dog is still hanging in there. The question is I guess.....is when to let go and "put her out of her misery". She's not complaining "so to speak", but you can see it in her eyes. She looks so sad and confused. This is an ATC I did a few years ago. Here is the next tribute to RUBY. The sweetest dog in the world!

RUBY

This is my beautiful dog, RUBY. She is the best dog in the whole entire world!
I think she may be dying. I don't want to be a downer or anything but, I see the signs. She is 13 1/2 years old. My husband and I will be comforting her all night. She has been the best companion anyone could ever ask for.

MUD!

I know I may have posted a similar picture like this but.......(it's not the exact same one...;) )
I just love the inhibitions of a child. My daughter just LOVES to play in the mud!!!! I so get that! It feels fabulous! I think that is why I love to play with Paperclay and Celluclay. It is so tactile! To feel the earth is heaven! I just love the dichotomy of this photograph. She (my daughter) is such a contrast between the girliest of girls, yet can be such a tomboy too! I love that about her! (Do you see that white skirt! Have no fear......SHOUT or whatever stain remover you have on hand....is here!) I see my reflection in my daughter every day, yet she is full of her own personality! I love to see her form her opinions everyday! I might not always agree with them, but that is after all, the beauty of life! We must all leave our mark here! Don't EVER be afraid to leave your own mark in life! BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!!!

Papier Mache.....dryin' in the California sun!

It's been pretty crazy hot here in California! It's good for my papier mache art, yet not good for the air-conditioning bill! It is however, like having your own Suzy Bake Oven! Things dry so quickly! Yay! :)  I'm really not the most patient person in the world though! That's why I have to work on three or four projects at a time......who has time to wait for all of this papier mache to dry? It takes FOREVER!!!! So until these are finished....you and I will both have to wait......wait.....wait........(dry, dry, dry...)

I hope that all of my fabulous artist friends are having a supercalifragilistic time! (O.K. - so I'm corny!)
